Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What happens if I go over my chat package limits?

If your Chat usage exceeds your package limits, overage fees will apply. You may also be moved to the next package size to ensure your app continues running smoothly.

    • Monthly Active Users Overage: $0.16 each
    • Concurrent Connections Overage: $1.20 each
    • Storage Overage: $0.20 per GB
  2. Do I need an App Factory Publishing Service subscription to use Chat?

Yes. An active App Factory subscription is required to enable Chat in your Rock Mobile app, along with Rock v17.2 or higher and Rock Mobile Shell v7.

  3. What is considered a Monthly Active User?

A Monthly Active User (MAU) is a unique person who connects to your Rock Mobile Chat at least once during a given month. Each user is only counted once per month, no matter how many times or on how many devices they connect.
The total resets at the start of each month. If your app has more users connecting than your package includes, overage fees may apply.

  4. What is a Concurrent Connection?

A Concurrent Connection represents the number of users who are actively connected to chat at the same time.
For example, if 150 people in your church are using chat simultaneously during a Sunday service, your app has 150 concurrent connections.
